Does my customer need to download an app?+
No app, ever. When a customer scans the QR code, the menu opens directly in their phone browser. They order and pay without creating an account or installing anything.
What happens if the internet goes down?+
Orders that were placed before the outage remain on the dashboard. We recommend keeping a mobile hotspot as backup. We're also building an offline-first mode — coming Q2 2026.
Can I still take orders from customers who don't want to use the QR?+
Absolutely. Your waiter can place orders directly into the dashboard on behalf of any table. The QR and manual ordering work side by side.
How does payment settlement work?+
Payments are processed by Razorpay and settled directly to your linked bank account, typically within T+1 or T+2 working days. Plater never holds your funds.
Is my data secure?+
Yes. We use Supabase (enterprise Postgres) with row-level security so your restaurant's data is completely isolated. All payments go through Razorpay's PCI-DSS certified infrastructure. We never store card details.
Can I use Plater for takeaway orders too?+
Yes. You can place a separate QR at your counter or entrance for takeaway orders. Customers specify their name instead of a table number, and you manage it from the same dashboard.
